Well it didn’t take long. Just a few hours after deranged Joseph Stack flew his plane on a “Kamikaze” attack into an IRS building in Austin, liberals were trying to link the madman to conservatives. The left-wing web site Daily Kos said the incident was a case of Tea Party “anti-government forces” launching their “first 9/11 inspired terrorist attack.” Jonathan Capehart writing in his blog at The Washington Post said Stack’s “alienation” reminded him of “the extreme elements of the Tea Party movement.” Unbelievable! When a jihadist yells radical Muslim slogans while shooting U.S. soldiers, the left tells us it doesn’t have anything to do with Islam. But a deranged tax evader in Texas suddenly morphs into every conservative. Before the day is over they will be blaming Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney!
Here is the dirty secret the Left doesn’t want you to know. Joseph Stack’s “philosophy,” to the extent he had one, was closer to the left-wing drivel at Daily Kos and moveon.org than it is to the patriots who are in the Tea Party movement.
Joseph Stack printed his manifesto on his business web page yesterday as he took off to try to kill IRS employees. In it he rails at the wealthy, GM executives, drug companies and insurance companies. His rhetoric sounded like Obama style populism – heavy on class warfare. At the end of this drivel he attacks capitalism and approvingly quotes Karl Marx: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” That is the same thing Barack Obama said to Joe the Plumber when he assured him he just wanted “to spread the wealth around.” No, Joe Stack wasn’t any conservative – he was a left-wing populist!

Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs mocked Sarah Palin during his daily press briefing by writing a “grocery list” on his hand with the words, “milk, bread, eggs, hope, change.” Maybe the rest of us should write little notes on our hands like “9.7” and “$1.6 trillion.” When folks ask us what that means, we can explain that they are “reminders of Obama’s accomplishments – 9.7% unemployment and a record budget deficit for one year.”
Surprisingly, Gibbs’ little stunt failed to impress its intended audience – the usually sympathetic White House press corps. According to an Associated Press report, “Many in the room, where President Obama had spoken just moments before about the need for bipartisanship, groaned at the political shot.” Can you imagine the reaction if any Bush administration official had been so petty?
Whatever you may think about her, Palin has clearly gotten under the White House’s skin. Notice that they’re not mocking any other prominent conservative. I wonder why this White House seems so threatened by the former governor of Alaska?

Media elites and pointy-headed leftwing intellectuals are having spasms this morning over Sarah Palin. What set them off this time? A liberal blogger discovered that Gov. Palin had written some “cheat” notes on her hand to use during her speech at the Tea Party convention this weekend. Every commentator in the country is using the incident to denounce her as stupid, non-intellectual, un-presidential and unserious. By the way, the “reminders” on her palm were “Energy,” “Cut taxes” and “Lift America’s spirits.” Oh the horror!
Of course most of the media talking heads continue to think that Obama is just the smartest, coolest guy that has ever occupied the Oval Office. Most of them thought it was silly when we raised questions about why our Harvard-educated president couldn’t say “Good morning” without his co-president – the Teleprompter. And even with the teleprompter, Obama manages to display serious ignorance. In a speech last week, he told a story about a Navy corpsman apparently not realizing that the “p” and the “s” in “corpsman” are silent. Twice, with the teleprompter, Obama pronounced the word as “corpse man.” Now there’s a job I wouldn’t want.
The media and the Left desperately want America to think that only liberals are smart. I remember how Reagan was mocked unmercifully because he used note cards during his speeches. The media had nothing but contempt for Dan Quayle. And, of course, George W. Bush was constantly presented as a buffoon.
“Poor little stupid Sarah Palin,” they are all saying. She wrote “Energy” on her hand to remind herself to bring up the need for more drilling. She wrote “Cut taxes” because she believes that is how to get our economy moving. She wrote “Lift America’s spirit” because she knows America needs inspiration.
Our president doesn’t write notes on his palm. He “knows” that limiting drilling is a great idea while we grow more dependent on people who hate us. He “knows” that raising taxes on families and small businesses is just the thing to do when the economy is on the ropes. And he is too busy apologizing for America’s sins and bashing businesses to think about lifting our spirits.
So who is the stupid one?

Last week we applauded our friends at Focus on the Family and the Tebow family for having the courage to speak up for the sanctity of life in a 30-second Super Bowl ad. CBS is coming under a barrage of attacks from radical pro-abortion groups and the usual suspects on the Left for agreeing to air the ad.
Sarah Palin defended the ad last week, writing on her Facebook page, “Women should be reminded that they are strong enough and smart enough to make decisions that allow for career and educational opportunities while still giving their babies a chance at life.” Appearing on Fox News Thursday, Palin took on the National Organization for Women, saying, “For NOW to have chosen this…to come across sounding quite offended by hearing that a pro-life commercial will air on the Super Bowl day, it’s baffling.”
Palin is being polite. This is just one more example of the gross intolerance of the Left, attempting to silence speech it disagrees with. Even the New York Times chastised the Left for its “puzzling and dismaying” reaction.
Don’t let the Left dominate this debate. Please take action in defense of our values. Click here to send a message of encouragement to the executives at CBS through its website’s feedback form. Thank you.

Sarah Palin’s book is a best seller in this country, but I can guarantee that the best seller in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia and Iran will be a report written and posted online by the Transportation Security Administration. The TSA report outlined the inside secrets about our airport screening and security procedures. I can just see the terrorists lining up at the local jihadist book store in Tehran.
The information posted is incredible, including: “examples of identification documents that screeners accept, including congressional, federal air marshal and CIA ID cards; and it explains that diplomatic pouches and certain foreign dignitaries with law enforcement escorts are not subjected to any screening at all. It said certain methods of verifying identification documents aren’t used on all travelers during peak travel crushes.”
If someone in the private sector posted a company’s trade secrets online, they would be fired in minutes, no questions asked. But the fact that no government official likely will be fired for this breach of security perfectly demonstrates the futility of granting the government more responsibility and power. I can’t wait to find my health records posted online when ObamaCare goes into effect!

We’ve all heard of death bed conversions, but a leading liberal luminary has been caught on tape making a death panel confession. Sarah Palin got pilloried for suggesting that government-run healthcare would lead to “death panels.” But in a 2007 speech at the University of California at Berkeley, former Clinton Labor Secretary and Obama economics advisor Robert B. Reich essentially admitted that Palin was right.
Reich began his address by telling the audience that he was going to deliver a speech about healthcare as if he were an honest candidate who “did not care about becoming president.” Reich continued, “In other words, this is what the truth is…” Are you sitting down for this? Here’s an excerpt:
“…particularly you young healthy people…you’re going to have to pay more. …And by the way, … if you’re very old, we’re not going to give you all that technology and all those drugs for the last couple of years of your life… It’s too expensive…so we’re going to let you die.
“Also, I’m going to use the bargaining leverage of the federal government … to force drug companies and insurance companies and medical suppliers to reduce their costs. What that means, less innovation and that means less [sic] new products and less [sic] new drugs on the market which means you are probably not going to live much longer than your parents.”
So, let’s summarize the kind of healthcare program that Robert Reich wants: “you’re going to have to pay more,” “if you’re very old … we’re going to let you die” and “less innovation … means you are probably not going to live much longer.”
That’s pretty shocking stuff. The media just couldn’t believe it when Sarah Palin suggested that government-run, socialized healthcare would lead to “we’re going to let you die” death panels. But that’s exactly what Reich said, and you can listen to him say it here.
To the bean counting bureaucrats, your life is a burden, not a blessing. So Big Government is going to dictate what healthcare you can and cannot receive. Need critical surgery? Maybe not. Suffering from serious pain? Sorry. Need cancer treatment? Too bad. How could anyone possibly call that “reform”? Sadly, many politicians do.
